By default, Windows Explorer will display the file extension zip as a branch of treeview. Examples like the image below:
The more the zip file contained within a folder or subfolder it will slow down when you open a folder or subfolder. To prevent this, you can disable. Do the following:
1. Go to the DOS Prompt
2. Type: regsvr32 / u zipfldr.dll
3. Press Enter
